Migration assistant

Leave the old tools, keep everything in them

Export from your current tool, drop the file into Decisive, and the AI rebuilds your tasks, docs, discussions, statuses and labels in your new workspace. Nothing is written until you confirm the plan.

No fixed file format · Plan shown before import · Works on the free plan

Four steps, one of them is yours

01

Export from your current tool

Each source shows the exact clicks to produce an export — Linear’s CSV, Notion’s Markdown & CSV zip, Trello’s JSON. You never have to guess which format.

02

Drop the file in

Zip, CSV, JSON, Markdown — hand the file over as-is. Notion zips don’t even need unzipping.

03

Review the plan

The AI reads the export and shows you an import plan: which tasks, docs, discussions, statuses and labels it will create, before anything exists.

04

Confirm

Only then is anything written. One click and your workspace is seeded — same names, same structure, ready to work in.

Nine sources on the tin, any export in practice

The importer doesn’t expect a fixed shape — the AI reads whatever your export actually contains. The tools below get step-by-step export instructions in the wizard; anything else goes through “Something else” and usually just works.

Linear

CSV export — issues, projects, labels, workflow states

Notion

Markdown & CSV .zip — pages, docs and databases

Trello

JSON export — cards, lists and labels

Asana

CSV or JSON — tasks, sections and projects

Jira

CSV export — issues, statuses and epics

ClickUp

CSV export — tasks, lists and statuses

monday.com

Board export — items, groups and columns

Any CSV / spreadsheet

A plain sheet of work items is enough

Something else

No fixed format required — see below

Your work, restructured — not screenshotted

  • Tasks with statuses, labels and priorities
  • Documents and pages into Docs
  • Workflow states into board columns
  • Projects and epics into sagas
  • Open debates into Discussions

You see the plan first. The review step lists everything the import will create. If the mapping is wrong, nothing has happened yet.

It’s additive. Importing seeds new items into your workspace — it never deletes or overwrites what’s already there.

Your export stays yours. The file is parsed for the plan and the import — it doesn’t become training data. Same AI providers and commitments as the rest of the product.

You can leave the same way. Settings → Export downloads the whole workspace as a .zip — complete records plus readable markdown. Every plan, any time. Importing here isn’t a one-way door.

Create your workspace, then open Migrate from the workspace menu — or go straight to app.decisive.rocks/<your-team>/migrate. A first import typically takes a few minutes, most of it reviewing the plan.
